Explore Oakland's murals with Vessel Gallery and Oakland-based painter and muralist David Burke. 2PM meet at Vessel Gallery, 471 25th Street, located in the heart of the pulsing Art + Garage District, a.k.a birthplace of Oakland Art Murmur. You'll want to wear your walking shoes as we'll travel to beloved and exciting murals on foot (less than a mile). During the tour, we'll learn more about the murals, its creators, the process of erecting murals, how to view and analyze a mural, and gain a deeper understanding of pubic art and its affect on the city and community. After the tour, we'll circle back to Vessel Gallery, for a hosted beer + cocktail hour, learn more about the historic space, view David's artworks in the gallery, and continue our conversation on murals, art, and Oakland.
Bring your walking shoes.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in.
This program is part of our Art Seeds events.
