On the island of Marth's Vineyard there is a lovely seaside town of Oak Bluffs, established as a religious retreat in 1835. The homes in the Cottage area, many of which are historically significant, represent a unique style of architecture know as Carpenter Gothic Revival.

Artist Statement:
Stephen Mimms is motivated to produce photographic images that please and arouse emotions with their beauty. He simply shoots to make art. Most times, he strives to design images that reflect a unique point of view, showcasing various interests in travel, nature and architecture. Stephen enjoys photography with a passion. That excitement has the ability to exploit what he sees at the time. He began with film photography for many years, learning through self-study, books, magazines and practice. He discovered digital photography and his passion for photography has continued to develop. The goal for each of Stephen's images is to make you stop, look and be moved to think and feel. He wants to create images that not only have a story to tell, but have depth and feeling and serve as reminders of the breadth of all of our emotions and senses.
