For this edition of ART IN MIND, The Brick Lane Gallery presents a collection of mixed-media pieces, paintings, collages by nine international artists for a duration of two weeks. Including young artists such as Mayis Almoosawi whose simple lines and colours create captivating images, to Maxine (Whittaker) Shivling bringing a selection of her Shivlings. Inspired by femininity and beauty, her characters are realized with simple lines and embedded with additional materials, from objects to jewelry and fabric. Natalia Aros’s paintings find their inspiration in notions of the subconscious and the artist’s studies in psychology and therapy studies. Kiril Katsarov creates artworks with mixed elements and interesting juxtapositions. Colour is central in BellaPicassella’s paintings dominated by energetic lines. Semi-abstract are the works of Saegel Bascombe, who includes in his works his interest for African Art. From abstraction to figuration, Jeremiah Calvin presents original and unique pieces of foam sculptures with animal imagery and captivating textures.
