Emotional Photography – Charity Group Exhibition by GuruShots
Opening: Friday, June 2nd - 6-9pm
Open: Sat+Sun, June 3rd+4th, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, June 8th-11th - 2-7pm
From June 2nd – 11th BERLIN BLUE art will hand over the gallery keys to GuruShots for a photo group exhibiton focusing on expressive portraits. "Emotional Photography" will present works of 400 photographers from over 50 different countries. The photos will be shown as prints as well as on a screen.
The exhibitions features works by professional as well as hobby photographers. The photographers are observing their subjects in moments of emotional peaks and valleys and thereby deliver a multifacetted portrayal of the human experience.
A percentage of sales from this exhibiton will be donated to „Pass the Crayon“, a Berlin based nonprofit organization with the mission to facilitate the integration of refugee children using art as a way of growing their social and emotional skills. Works that do not get sold will be donated to a refugee shelter in Berlin (pending owners approval) , where they will be displayed in the common areas.
GuruShots is an online platform that connects and inspires photo enthusiasts from around the world. Gurushots provides themed challenges (in this case: "Emotional Photography“) in which photographers can participate with their pictures, at the same time vote for the pictures they like best and by receiving votes climb the platforms ranking system. GuruShots is using a combination of crowd-sourced curation and a special GuruShots expert panel to select the best images, which will be shown in the Berlin exhibition. After Mia photo fair in Milano and a colorful spring exhibition in Paris, Gurushots is returning to Berlin for the 2nd time with this exhibition.
