Rafael Silveira: Picturesque Hallucinations

KP Projects is thrilled to present Picturesque Hallucinations, Rafael Silveira’s new body of surrealist expanse, and his first solo show both with KP Projects and in Los Angeles.

“These paintings do not belong to reality nor to imagination. They dwell in an in-between. A place between light and shadow, mind and matter, amidst the wild and the domestic.”

Silveira’s visions of the in-between are bathed in soft and vibrant hues of pink, blue, and green. He renders figures and objects in the same cascading and undulating patterns as the natural (or perhaps unnatural) environment that surrounds them, invoking themes of interconnection and sameness among living beings.
