Arushi Gallery presents “The Reality of Illusions,” an art exhibit showcasing three Los Angeles based female artists in celebration of Women's History Month. The featured artists, Lindsey Nobel, LINZ, and Marta Solaz, all convey unique perspectives and experiences through their work, but are brought together through the common themes of time/space, emotion, and color.
The exhibit dwells on three questions that connect the work of these artists. The first is “what is?” which explores the present. The second is “what was?” which reflects on the past, and the third is “what is to come?” which ponders on the future. Another major connecting factor in this show are emotions. People are often influenced by their surroundings and the emotions that are associated with them. The individual emotions of the artists shine through whether it be represented through realistic figurative forms or highly abstracted shapes. Color also plays a crucial role in this show. Each artist’s distinctive color palettes and knowledge of color theory create a rich, vibrant quality that draws the viewer into their work as well as into their lives. Although Lindsey Nobel, LINZ, and Marta Solaz come from unique backgrounds with multitudes of individualized experiences, their artwork is united through the exploration of these common themes.
