Water Marks, an international online solo mixed media painting exhibition by Jemsy Pradun officially opens on February 20, and continues for two months until April 20, 2025.

Drenched in color, submerged in emotion, and flowing with unrestrained imagination, Water Marks invites viewers into the boundless world of Jemsy Pradun. Each artwork in this collection is a ripple in an ocean of subconscious expression, where spontaneity collides with intention, and surreal forms emerge from a sea of intricate details.

Jemsy’s creative process is fluid, intuitive, and deeply personal—mirroring the unpredictable nature of water. Like a river shaping its path over time, her artistic journey began in a moment of unexpected inspiration. With nothing but a few untouched sketchbooks and sharpies, she set out on a voyage through uncharted artistic waters, discovering a passion that would grow into a distinctive visual language.

At the core of Water Marks is Jemsy’s unique style: a fusion of eclectic surrealism and adapted blind contour, where fantastical creatures, vivid dreamscapes, and intricate compositions take shape. Her preferred mediums—markers, colored pencils, and paint markers—allow for an explosive spectrum of hues that echo her emotional depth. Each piece invites the viewer to look, then look again, uncovering layers of meaning, motion, and subconscious storytelling.

These works pulsate with a vibrant energy, yet there is an underlying rhythm, a structured chaos that gives the compositions their gravity. From the depths of aquatic realms teeming with expressive sea life to surreal cityscapes bubbling with eccentric characters, Jemsy’s world is one where color speaks louder than words. The interplay of contrast, movement, and abstraction creates a sense of fluidity, as if her creations breathe, morph, and evolve with each passing glance.

In Water Marks, Jemsy challenges the viewer to dive beneath the surface—beyond the initial burst of color and whimsy—into the deeper currents of emotion and experience that drive her process. These paintings are not just visual spectacles; they are visceral experiences, capturing the ebb and flow of thought, memory, and artistic instinct.

Through this exhibition, Jemsy Pradun invites us to navigate the waves of her imagination, to lose ourselves in the current, and to find meaning in the movement of the water, the ink, and the soul.

Artist ( Description ):

My artistic process can be considered organic with contradictory methods. When creating, I use both spontaneity and intention. My spontaneity relates to the overall look, hardly ever having a specific picture in mind. My intention lies within the order I draw the objects/characters. Starting with a pencil, I then outline with black sharpie; although, I have explored work without this traditional outlining. My preferred medium (markers, colored pencils, and paint markers), enables me to explore a vibrant spectrum reflecting an emotional landscape. My style, eclectic surrealism and adapted blind contour, allows me and the viewer to transcend reality and delve into the subconscious. Each piece is an exploration of feeling; a visual representation of my internal world. My representations exemplify my expressions in a fluid, colorful, and deeply personal way.
