A collection of Art, an international online solo painting exhibition by Luis A. Rendon, officially opens on February 5 and continues for two months until April 5, 2025.
What do you see when you look at the world? Is it the silent wisdom in the gaze of an animal, the echoes of a melody carried by the wind, or the vast solitude of the cosmos reflected in a single ripple? Luis A. Rendon invites us to pause, to truly see, and to feel.
Having begun his artistic journey in Medellín, Colombia, in the 1990s, Rendon returns with a renewed passion for art and nature, shaped by his family's influence. His work oscillates between the stark simplicity of minimalism and the rich detail of photorealism, allowing the viewer’s own perception to complete the story. Each piece is a doorway into an experience—silent, mysterious, and deeply personal.
Rendon’s paintings capture moments suspended between reality and emotion. His black-and-white works, particularly those depicting feline figures, possess a spectral beauty, their luminous outlines emerging from darkness like whispers of forgotten dreams. A solitary cat drinks from a still pool, the water mirroring the vastness of the cosmos. Three panthers materialize from the shadows, their golden eyes holding secrets untold. Light and darkness, presence and absence—Rendon masterfully plays with contrast, urging us to find meaning in the spaces left unspoken.
Beyond monochrome, his vibrant compositions pulse with life and imagination. A toy saxophone floats effortlessly in a blue abyss, bubbles rising as if carried by an unheard tune—an innocent nod to nostalgia and playfulness. A musician, silhouetted against neon lights, breathes music into the night, transforming sound into movement. A lone figure drifts upward through an ocean of blue, an ethereal journey between the known and the infinite.
Whether through abstraction or hyperrealism, Rendon’s art does not dictate—it suggests, it beckons, it invites. His work is not just to be seen but to be felt, experienced in the quiet space between thought and sensation. Each painting is a meditation, a reminder of the unseen forces that shape our existence—light and shadow, sound and silence, memory and longing.
"I capture the audience by allowing them to fill in the blanks," Rendon states. And in that space, we find ourselves.
